Roulette - The Game

The game of Roulette is played by spinning a small ball around a wheel that contains thirty-seven or thirty eight numbered alternating black and red slots.  When the wheel stops, the ball comes to rest in one of these slots.

The object of either European or American Roulette is to correctly predict the slot in which the ball will land. By predicting the right number, you earn a payoff on your bet. The size of the payoff depends on how the bet was placed.

Roulette Strategies

There are two well documented roulette strategies that you can chose to adopt, unless you have your own particular method of covering your numbers, these are:-

The worst bet is the five number bet where the house advantage increases to 7.29% - remember this when you play.

Charting the Wheel Strategy

The basis of the strategy is to review the frequency with which a specific range or group of numbers recur, suggesting some bias in the wheel.  The logic is then to bet on the numbers in the sector that is frequently hitting.  This is a time consuming and potentially costly strategy, the recommendation being to play the numbers for at least 38 spins. If you ahead at this point keep all but 50% of your winnings and start playing with these.

Column Strategy

This strategy covers two thirds of the table for a relatively low investment yet can still achieve positive results.

Place other bets concurrently with the columns strategy to cover your bases.
